1.  What is the purpose of the focus group series, Politics Your Way?

The purpose of the focus group series is to hear the experiences of women of color, and collect information that will help guide our next steps in the Diversity Outreach Program.  This information will be published for other organizations and individuals to refer to.

The focus group is also the first in various levels one can get involved in at the MWPC.  After the focus group, women of color can participate in trainings, other discussion forums, and be oriented to the other branches of the MWPC.

2. If I want to host a focus group, how do I proceed?

Thank you so much for your interest in hosting a focus group!  Please refer to the [focus group planner page link] for the steps in setting up a focus group.  It is easy, and we will help you through the process to make this a rewarding experience for everyone.

3. Who funds the Diversity Outreach project?

The MN Women’s Political Caucus- Education Council has received funding from the Women’s Foundation and the Bremer Foundation to support the important mission of increasing participation of women of color in Minnesota.

4. What is Phase II of the Diversity Outreach Project?

Phase II of the Diversity Outreach Project will include continuation of the focus group series, the safe space talking circles, various levels of trainings.  Please stay updated with our calendar for specific events and dates.

5. How do you advertise for Diversity Outreach Project events, focus groups and trainings?

We advertise in every outlet imaginable for the Diversity Outreach Project and its programming. Recruitment is conducted through a series of community and media-based networks where women of color of all demographics and levels of political participation are encouraged to register.  The MWPC-EC advertises through a wide variety of outlets to ensure a cross-section of participants, including, but not limited to recommendations from cultural consultants, community partnership development, word of mouth, flyers, electronic bulletin boards, large e-mail distributions (e-mail blasts), online newsletters, community calendars, radio, and television.
